Drawing Colors

Colors are an important part of many knitting charts and can effectively communicate the yarn colors needed for a project, particularly for intarsia or colorwork knitting. Yarn Toolkit provides a variety of colors you utilize when creating your knitting chart.

Navigating the Color Palette

The color palette is displayed on the bottom section of the toolbar when color editing is enabled. To enable color editing, click on the Enable color editing. icon if not already highlighted.

Select the paint icon to enable color mode.Toolbar set to color mode, enabling the ability to draw colors onto the chart editor.

Changing the Active Color

The color palette holds up to 6 unique colors, with the active color indicated by the pen icon. To switch the active color to another one shown among the toolbar, simply click on another color. The pen should now be on the newly selected color, which will be what is colored onto the knitting chart.

Click a color in the palette to set it as the active color.Confirm the newly selected color is now the active color.

Adding a New Color

Yarn Toolkit provides up to 80 colors for styling your knitting chart and plans on adding more in the future. To switch out a color in the toolbar with another color not among the current options, click the active color again (or double click a non-active color) to trigger a dropdown display of all available colors. The new color that is selected will replace the active color in the color palette.
