Definition

The counterpart to the knit stitch. The working yarn is held in front of the fabric while the right needle enters the stitch from right to left, wraps the yarn, and draws a new loop through. Creates a bumpy horizontal bar on the side facing the knitter. On the reverse side it appears as a knit stitch.
